Monroe County School District Strategic Plan
Monroe County School District would like to share a 2016 Survey regarding the Monroe County School District Strategic Plan that was developed for us by Hanover Research.† This is the third year of our deployment of the Strategic Plan and it is important to get feedback regarding its implementation. Parents are encouraged to complete the survey using the link below. The Survey will be available until May 27th. †Click on the link to take the survey. Click Here.
Middle School Final Exams
Middle School Final Exams will be held on Tuesday, June 7 and Wednesday, June 8, 2016. Both days are early release days for middle school only. Attendance on these exams days is very important as outcomes could affect final student grades. Each parent and legal guardian of a child within the compulsory attendance age is responsible for the childís school attendance as required by law (Florida Statute 1003.21).
If students cannot attend school on these days to take exams, this is the policy:
If the student has a pre-arranged excused absence (see Monroe County guidelines below), they will be allowed to take the exam at a pre-arranged earlier date. This must be arranged through administration and documentation must be provided. If the absence is unexcused, students will need to report to Plantation Key School during the week of June 13-17 to take the final exams.

Students of the Week
Barbara Mesa chooses Hannah Mitchell for student of the week. Hannah is a 5th grade student in my ALPHA class and she has demonstrated a dedication to her work in class.† She always helps others and is kind to everyone. Hannah exhibits the best character and cooperation during all her projects and presentations in class. Great job Hannah, keep up your enthusiasm!!

Ms. Alicia Jensenís student of the week is Gaby Cutchins. Gaby is an amazing student aid. She does not question the tasks I give her to do and always has a smile on her face. She is hardworking and respectful. Thank you for everything you do Gaby you truly are a Plantation Key School gem.
