PKS celebrates our volunteers!
The Volunteer Breakfast was a big hit! Everyone enjoyed the Glee Club's performance and delicious food prepared by PKS staff in appreciation of all the volunteers at PKS.

Congratulations PKS Cheerleaders!
PKS cheerleaders won 2nd place at the Florida Cheer & Dance Competition!

SCIENCE DAY!
February 7 was Marine Science Day at PKS.  Students, parents, and staff enjoyed guest speakers, hands on activities, and interactions with many local scientists. The end of the day featured a student raffle of marine science items donated by local businesses. Thank you everyone for all your support!

Literacy Week at PKS
We want to give a BIG 'Thank You!' to Mrs. Judy Borger, grandmother of Joss Richardson in Mrs. Milchman’s class, for donating 3 brand new books that she wrote….”POP!”, “CAT”, and “GO” to each student from Pre-K through second grade.  What a special treat!  We love our new books!

Mustache Day
PKS students sure enjoyed Mustache Day! PBS sponsored this event and students paid 2 'Caught You Doing Good' tickets to participate.  Students earn tickets at PKS for showing PRIDE - being Prepared, Respectful, Involved, Doing their best, and Enthusiastic.

3rd Grade Trick or Treating for Unicef
Plantation Key School students in Mrs. Brinkman’s and Mrs. Carter’s third grades classes participated in Trick or Treat for UNICEF.  The money collected goes to the Kiwanis and UNICEF Eliminate Project.  This project provides women in need with vaccinations.

PKS students win awards from the Village of Islamorada

Alison Woltanski received a 1st place award from The Islamorada Village Council for writing an essay about what the The Islamorada Government means to her. Bernadine Bates earned a first place ribbon and Sheila Gongora earned a second place certificate for creating outstanding drawings about what The Islamorada Government means to each of them. A special thanks to participating teachers Nancy Ramsdorf, Cheryl Carter, and Donna Brinkman.

Mini-subs visit PKS
PKS recently got a visit from 2 mini-subs to kick of a year of Marine Science activities. Students got to ask questions of the pilots from psubs.org (Personal Submersible Organization) and climb inside the subs.  Coral Shores High School culinary class provided 'mini-sub'marine sandwiches to all!

PKS Celebration
On October 4, PKS had an all school event to celebrate the opening of Pantherville, our microsociety, and also to celebrate achieving A+ school status again!
